Airfields / Landing Grounds

This section documents the history of North East airfields. Many airports, airfields/aerodromes or simple landing groiunds have been used over the years, most are which are long since forgotten. The research team are keen to hear from anyone that can provide additional information about these airfields, the aircraft and personnel served or simply want to share their stories and experiences.

NEAR would like to thank Mick Davis of Cross and Cockade for providing the details of WWI airfields/landing grounds and their location.
