Currock Hill Landing Ground

Location : North-West of Chopwell
OS Ref : NZ 105 592

Map showing where the Currock Hill landing ground was located.

Currock Hill was a World War One 3rd Class Landing Ground used by 36(HD)Sqn. It was in operation between April 1916 and March 1917 when its duty was replaced by the landing ground at Horsegate. This site shouldn't confused with the active site nearby at Hedley-on-the Hill which is currently being used by the Northumbria Gliding Club (and also known as Currock Hill).
