16th-17th June 2012 : Sci-Fi Experience and Fathers Day weekend

This year the museum was invaded by multiple types of characters from Doctor Who and Star Wars. As well as the popular TV and Film Characters, the Museum staff also played a part in this years event, dressing up as aliens and Area 51 Personnel, performing autopsys throughout the day. A Shooting Range was also in operation behind the Vulcan Bomber and both activities proved to be a big hit with visitors, especially children.

Visitors were also involved in a Star Wars firefight which involved two teams trying to suppress and eventually defeat the opposing force with laser designated weapons. There was also a chance for people to be part of the Space Shuttle Discovery's Last Flight, by climbing into our 'Space Simulator' and witnessing the final take off and journey through space.

The ever-popular Vulcan cockpit was also open allowing the public to climb up and see what life was like for the V-Bomber Crew. Other Aircraft open included the De Havilland Vampire, Hawker Hunter and Gloster Meteor.
