33Sqn's North East history
33Sqn arrived at Middleton St. George from Leeming in
September 1958 with Javelin FAW.7's in an all weather fighter role.
The squadron had reformed there during September 1957 with the
re-numbering of 264Sqn. In October 1960 the squadron upgraded to the
Javelin FAW.9 which it continued to operate until it was disbanded
on 31st December 1962.
